What Is a Pre-Op Physical Exam?
Pre-op physical exams assess your health status before a scheduled surgery to inform the surgeon of any conditions they need to monitor, treat, or manage during and after the procedure. Most physicians require a physical examination within the 30 days leading up to your surgery.
During your pre-op physical at Advanced Urgent Care Center, your provider will take physical measurements (height, weight, blood pressure, etc.), review your medications, take your medical history and surgical history, and perform urine or blood testing, x-rays, or EKGs if necessary. We will give your results to you and let you know if you’re cleared for surgery at the end of your appointment.
Convenient and Affordable
You don't need an appointment, and our rates are affordable.
Comprehensive Exams
Our qualified providers take a medical history and any necessary labs or blood work.
Paperwork
Bring any forms you need a provider to complete to clear you for surgery or work.
Types of Physical Exams
There are several different reasons to get a physical exam at Advanced Urgent Care Center:
Pre-Op Physical Exams
Before surgery, you will need to have a medical screening to ensure that your body is in good condition for the procedure. During and after the procedure, the body is put under a lot of strain on the operating table.
Sports Team Physical Exams
Sports physicals assess your fitness to participate. Healthcare professionals may pick up on something that would normally go unnoticed, such as an undiagnosed heart condition, neurological problem, or joint or muscle damage. Sports physicals are also a good way to track the progression of your health.
Pre-Employment Physical Exams
A pre-employment physical gives both you and your potential employer assurance that you can do a job. A pre-employment physical identifies potential illnesses or chronic conditions that could affect workplace safety.
What to Bring to Your Physical Exam
Bring your driver's license, insurance card (if you have insurance), list of current medications, and any forms you need your provider to fill out. Certain labs or tests may take one business day to complete, and we will call you and send the results to your primary care physician.
